Steve Westcott – Vice Chair / Co‐opted Governor Steve has recently retired, but worked as a Business Analyst in the Telecommunications and Media industry for most of his career He has lived in Ash Vale with his wife for over 20 years, and has two sons who have both now completed the Ash Manor journey. He enjoys the outdoor life and has been encouraging young people through his involvement with the Scout organisation since his own childhood, currently holding the position of Explorer Scout Leader with one of the local units. He joined the board of governors in 2020. |

Miranda Harrison – Co‐opted Governor Miranda is Deputy Headteacher at a Surrey Pupil Referral Unit, having spent 7 years teaching in Alternative Provision in Hampshire. Miranda has been a Surrey governor for over 15 years and has a child in year 11. Her background is HR and Data management and she chairs the Standards and Performance committee, overseeing pupil progress and attainment.

Paul Spooner – Local Authority Governor Paul is a Borough Councillor representing Ash South & Tongham at Guildford BC and was an Ash Parish Councillor for 10 years, having stood down in April 2020. He led Guildford BC from 2015‐19. He has a very keen interest in health and education. He was Chairman/Vice Chairman of Governors at Waverley Abbey for 12 years and has been involved in education at a political level for over a decade. Paul also has a 'day job' as Commercial Director of a med‐tech business based near Vienna in Austria.

Sandra Jones - Parent Governor Sandra has lived in Ash Vale for the past 5 years and has been involved in various local initiatives such as the local COVID support group. She works for a market research company based in London where she looks after the strategy and development of the insight department. She currently has a daughter in Y9 and a son in Y7 at Ash Manor. She brings her experience and dedication to the local community to support the education of students at Ash Manor. |

Bash Naidu – Parent Governor Bash is an Advanced Practitioner Radiation Therapist specialising in cancer care and is currently working within the NHS but has previously worked within the private sector. She has 23 years of experience in healthcare and is passionate about healthcare and education. Bash has a son in Y7 at Ash Manor and would like to support the teachers and students or Ash Manor to achieve the best in their schooling careers.

Ben Roseveare – Staff Governor Ben is Head of Geography at Ash Manor School. He had a previous 20 year career in the travel and tourism industry. Ben is a qualified FA football referee and helps with football and cricket extra-curricular activities. He has joined the board of Governors as the staff Governor. |

Jane Sheridan – Co‐opted Governor Jane works at Ash Manor part‐time as Careers Lead delivering the Careers Programme across all year groups and providing students with STEM and business related enrichment opportunities. In addition, she works for SATRO, an education charity in Guildford. Jane is a Trustee of the Farr Foundation and a Search Technician for Sussex Search Dogs. She became a Parent Governor in 2011 and is now a Co‐opted Governor. |

Tom Whitehead – Co‐opted Governor Tom has worked for the Bank of England, supervising some of the UK’s largest banks, since 2018. Prior to joining the Bank, Tom completed a PhD in innate immunology at University College London (UCL) and a BSc in biochemistry at the University of St Andrews. Tom is passionate about STEM and wants to ensure that STEM careers are accessible to as many young people as possible. |

James Burstall – Co‐opted Governor James is new in the area, having recently retired from a 30-year career in Human Resources. During that career, he had the opportunity to work in the education sector as HR Director for a Multi Academy Trust in East London, as well as working in a range of other organisations and sectors. He was also, until his recent move, a co-opted Governor of a Primary School in Stockwell. |

Amy Rowley – Co‐opted Governor Amy is the marketing lead for the careers team at the University of Surrey, with a background working in the Higher Education sector. Her professional background includes dedicated support to schools and colleges in facilitating students' pursuit of their future aspirations. Her own academic journey includes a degree in Photography and the attainment of a Postgraduate Certificate in Humanities, which underscored her commitment to guiding students towards their future. As a local girl, Amy looks forward to supporting the students, parents and staff at Ash Manor to reach their full potential. |

Marie Curtis-Nice – Co‐opted Governor Marie is a Headteacher of Ash Grange Nursery and Primary School, which she has been for 13 years. Her career has been in education as she is passionate about transforming lives and nurturing people, younger and older to achieve their potential. |

Alex Ford – Co‐opted Governor Alex has lived in Ash for the past 9 years with his wife and three children (aged 9, 8 and 2). The two eldest attend Ash Grange, while the youngest will be starting nursery in September this year. Over the last decade, Alex has held positions in global professional services firms, including Deloitte and PwC. His experience spans across countries in Asia, Europe and the Americas. During this time he have been involved in developing risk and governance strategy, security, operational transformation, and has overseen the implementation of critical strategic plans, while setting global priorities and determining investments. Beyond work, Alex and his family are avid travellers with a keen interest in history, exploring different cultures, and immersing themselves in nature. Alex is passionate about ensuring that every child in our community has access to the best opportunities to explore and engage with the wide array of experiences and learning that secondary education offers. |
