SSLT 

Student Leadership

This academic year, ten students are honoured to have been selected to be members of the Student Senior leadership Team (SSLT). As the senior representatives of the student body, we have developed fresh ideas to enhance our school community and are eager to continue the excellent work of our predecessors.

Our aims and goals are: 

To improve school facilities and environment to make the school more sustainable
  • Create more sheltered areas
  • Collect rainwater
  • Develop garden area
  • Improve recycling facilities (paper, food)
  • Improve student toilet facilities 

To promote and develop inclusivity 

  • Develop offer and promotion of extra-curricular activities 
  • Develop KS3 DofE challenge 
  • Develop Culture Day  
  • Create inclusion charter and awareness
  • Develop KS4 rewards     

To build relationships with local community 

  • Build relationships with local charities
  • Develop links with other schools
  • Engage with local organisations
  • Regular food bank donations

What Student Leadership at Ash Manor School  looks like:  

  • The Student Senior Leadership Team (SSLT) - ten members from Year 11 including the two Head Students and two Deputy Head Students
  • Student Heads of Houses (SHOH) - one Year 10 student leader from each of the five houses
  • Tutor Representatives - one student per tutor group from Years 7-9 
  • Subject ambassadors - across all years used in leadership roles within departments
  • Peer Mentors - trained students from Key Stage 4 who support younger peers
