Student Leadership 

This academic year, eight students are honoured to have been selected and given the opportunity to be members of the Student Senior Leadership Team (SSLT). As the senior representatives of the student body, we have developed fresh ideas to enhance our school community and are eager to hear any new suggestions to make this another successful and memorable year. 

Our Aims are: 

  • To develop the school environment 
  • To become more involved with the external community 
  • To develop young leaders within the Ash Manor Community 

Our initial goals this year are: 

  • To implement house competitions aimed at increasing fundraising efforts for the selected house charities  
  • To explore the possibility of installing solar panels on the school buildings to promote more sustainable environmentally friendly energy usage
  • To plan and host a culture day to celebrate and appreciate diversity in our school  
  • To encourage more food bank donations from students and staff  
  • To continue writing personalised letters for members of staff at AMS who have contributed a significant number of years 
  • To update the student newsletter termly to share success and upcoming initiatives  

What Student Leadership at Ash Manor School  looks like:  

  • The Student Senior Leadership Team (SSLT) - 8 members from Year 11 including the Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl 
  • Student Heads of Houses (SHOH) - one Year 10 student representative from each House  
  • Tutor Representatives - One student per tutor group from Years 7-9 
  • Subject ambassadors - Across all years representing different departments  
  • Peer Mentors - Trained students from Years 9,10 and 11 who support younger peers
