Key Stage 3 Curriculum information:
Students learn through project-based activities which are linked to a set brief. Research is undertaken to gain an understanding of existing products and to collect inspiration material. They learn design and making principles which enable them to create their own ideas. These are then developed through modelling and testing to produce creative solutions to the problems identified.  Students experiment to develop techniques and practical skills to understand how to use a wide range of tools and materials. They use this understanding make their own products, which are then analysed and evaluated. They also learn how to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM). There is also an element of theory to support the projects being undertaken.

Key Stage 4:
Students interested in developing their three-dimensional creative skills further can opt to take GCSE 3D Design which is part of our Art curriculum Ash Manor School - Art
