On Thursday 16th of June 2022, 6 Year 8 cadets had the privilege of attending the All Arms and International Pacesticking Championships, held annually at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Here is what they had to say about their incredible experience:
On the 16th of June, some of the Year 8 cadets came to school in Cadet Kit to attend the National Pace Stick Competition based in the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and to see the various teams in action. We (the cadets who were attending) had arrived in front of Ash Manor by 8:20 am which allowed for plenty of time to chat as the transport came at 9:30 am.
After a short drive to the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst, the cadets were given a short tour of the college (primarily of the chapel) by Lieutenant Roberts who then (unfortunately) had to leave to go back and teach. After the educational tour, we marched to the tables next to the parade square and then watched the event start through to the finish. Some notable teams were the Pakistani team, the Chelsea Pensioners, and the Royal Logistics Company to name a few. Overall, we all agreed that it was a fun event as we got to take a day off of school with friends while still seeing how we could improve. – Cadet Rehman
