Two days after our final Summer Parade, 31 Cadets and 5 staff went to Crowborough Training Camp for CCF Central 2023. Two more of our staff had been seconded to the Cadet Training Team (CTT) and they had helped out on the week prior to ours and they continued to provide support on the week of our camp. Having enough staff within AMS CCF has allowed us to ensure more young people were able to go to Central and their assistance was invaluable to the CTT.
The first two days at camp we were out in the field, and again we had a brilliant time. On Monday we had 4 stands, including Pairs Fire & Manoeuvre, Harbour Drills, Training in Built Up Areas (TIBUA) Practice and Laser Quest.

We harboured up overnight and the downpour we experienced was immense; but even though the rain came, we worked as a team and got our bashas up and we were all fed. The following morning we went back round our stands from Monday but the challenge level had increased.
We started with a platoon attack, which was amazing. Smoke and battle noises really helped create the scene. We also did an ambush, survival skills (including axe throwing and blow darts) and we demonstrated our skills on the TIBUA stand for the new Colonel Cadets Col. Kelly.
