Training exercise at Pirbright
Over the very cold weekend of 23-25 Feb 18, 20 CCF cadets went to Brunswick camp in Pirbright for a training camp. The main subjects being instructed were First Aid, Skill at Arms and Drill. The instructors made the activities so fun and challenging that the cadets enjoyed nearly every moment of camp. Thanks must go to 2Lt Reid and 2Lt Edmonston as we had a 100% pass rate on the basic First Aid test and the improvement in their drill was substantial. From where they started on the Friday to where they ended up on the Sunday was nothing short of amazing.
The cadets worked hard!
Mixed in with the CCF activities they also had a chance to complete any homework on the Friday afternoon and they had free time in Sandes (a charitable run café on base.) We had so many nice comments from the managers in Sandes, who made a point to come over to the CCF staff and say how lovely and polite our cadets where.
The feedback from the cadets was also good with one of them telling us “it was #LIT!” Obviously this was an excellent bit of feedback.
We are now looking forward to the beret presentation on Mon 05 Mar 18.
